The BlackBerry Priv is to be released in 2015 in the month of November. The phone will boast of a unique design, as a sliding-QWERTY phone. It will also serve as one of the few and first Blackberry devices to run the Android OS.
Software & Hardware
The device was released with Android Marshmallow v5.1.1 OS. The BlackBerry Priv is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808, while the processor is Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 & quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53. The graphical processing unit of the device is powered by Adreno 418. The device has an internal storage of 32 GB for installing applications and 3 GB of RAM for running applications. The storage is upgradeable up to 200 GB via the use of an external SD card for installing additional media, such as video or audio. The phone is packed with a Li-ion 3410 mAh capacity battery for a prolonged battery life.
Design & Display
The screen size of the unlocked cellphone is 5.4 Inches, and it is an AMOLED display panel with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, with a pixel per inch density of 540. The dimensions of the unlocked cellphone are 147 x 77.2 x 9.4 mm, and its weight is around 192 grams. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 rests on the screen of the device.
The BlackBerry Priv features an 18 MP rear camera, capable of clicking decent photographs. The camera of the device is expected to be great, and should be able to capture good details. It can also record videos of 2160p at 30 fps and 1080p at 60fps. There is a secondary 2 MP front-facing camera available in the device for clicking selfies and recording videos of 720p.
