The device was released with BlackBerry OS 10.3.1. The BlackBerry Leap is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 Plus, while the processor is Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait. The graphical processing unit of the device is powered by Adreno 225. The device has an internal storage of 16 GB for installing applications and 2 GB of RAM for running applications. The storage is upgradeable up to 128 GB via the use of an external SD card for installing additional media, such as video or audio. The phone is packed with a Li-ion 2800 mAh capacity battery for a prolonged battery life.
