The Nokia Asha 309 was released in the market in December of 2012. It was released as a basic model, and has basic features like SMS, Calling, Radio, Bluetooth etc.
Hardware and Software
The Nokia Asha 309 is a very basic phone model and runs on a Java based operating system. The memory of the device can be expanded up to 32 GB for storing media such as video and audio. The device is able to support 1000 phonebook entries, and also supports call records. The phone has an internal memory of 20 MB with 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB of RAM for running the applications. There is a 3.5 mm jack slot is provided for inserting the headphones.
Design and display
The unlocked cellphone weighs just 102 grams with the dimensions of 109.9 x 54 x 13.2 mm. The user has to insert a mini SIM inside the phone to make it function. The screen size of the device is 3.0 inches, with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The screen to body ratio is 43.2% with a pixel density of 155 ppi.
There is a 2 MP rear-facing camera available in the Nokia Asha 309 for clicking photographs, capable of taking decent photographs, however, it cannot record videos of 176x144 at 10 fps. A 1110 mAh Li-ion battery can be found used in the device, and being a basic phone model, the battery can last the device 1-2 days.
